On Dec. 3, 2002, the eighteenth anniversary of the Bhopal disaster, a press release was sent out from Dow-Chemical.com, telling Dow's story more honestly than Dow ever does. The release explained a little too honestly why Dow was refusing to take responsibility for the disaster, and couldn't see a reason to offer any more than $500 in compensation per victim. The result was a series of attacks, shutdowns, and other heavy-handed behaviors by Dow and its allies—which eventually resulted in our greatest success two years later.

While we can't find the original dow-chemical.com website (here's the one that came out of it), nor, for the moment, the press release we sent out in 2002, we can show you the fake Shell site that resulted in us taking on Dow Chemical—the full story is (or will soon be) here
