Subject: Strategic Business Management Conference - Sydney

Dear Rhonda J. Traversi:

I am Mr. Sprat's personal secretary, and I am answering his email while he is away on business. I am dismayed that the Strategic Business Management Conference is cancelled, especially on such short notice. We are in a somewhat difficult situation, because Mr. Sprat is already en-route to Sydney for the conference, with several stops along the way for other meetings and presentations.

I wonder if there is some way to arrange for him to give his presentation to your membership despite the cancellation of the conference. This could still be a wonderful outreach effort. In the interest of ameliorating the actual commitment not only Mr. Sprat's intellectual capital but also his presence in Australia, please let me know by e-mail if this might be possible right away.

Thank You

Dear Hildegarde

Thank you for your email - I appreciate your feeling and concern in respect to the above. This is just a quick email to advise that I shall most certainly endeavour to bring together people with a like interest to whom Mr. Spratt may provide say a three quarters of an hour presentation and then join them for luncheon on 21 May. We are endeavouring now to put a strategy into place. I will revert with greater detail shortly. In the meantime, would you please advise Mr Spratt accordingly.

Subject: Wonderful news!

Just a note to commend you all on this change in policy and your new commitment to ensuring human rights! The world will be a better place for this, and you will have the opportunity to reverse much of the enormous suffering caused by previous policies.

Thank you this grand undertaking.

It's so wonderful that you've decided to stop facilitating the
exploitation of the environment, its resouces and every living being on
the face of the earth and be a positive and constructive force for life
on earth instead. Way to go, WTO!

Subject: Joke?

I received your press release/e-mail about restructuring the WTO to benefit
poor and developing nations. Is this a well written joke? Just wanted to
check before I celebrate.

Thanks,
