We flack our DVD!

New Yorkers! Here's a little series of local events we'll be involved in, starting today. They're interesting in themselves, but to top it off, we'll be using them to shamelessly flack our brand-spanking-new DVD, which is available in stores April 1 (and before then, from us directly). It comes with over 80 minutes of out-takes, weird old films we made a decade ago, and so on and so forth. Buy it from our site, and you'll get a free copy of the New York Times Special Edition as well. (The link should be at the top of http://theyesmenfixtheworld.com/store/ within hours.)

Today, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17. 8:00pm: "Employee of the Month"
200 Hudson Street. New York, NY 10013
Andy joins some other folks as "Employee of the Month," hosted by Catie Lazarus, and organized by the 92nd Street Y (except in Tribeca!). We will sign not only DVDs but also torsos, just this once, on Catie's demand.

This SATURDAY, MARCH 20. 3-5pm: "Going Undercover" panel
Pace University's Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts. 1 Pace Plaza. NYC
Join us for an afternoon panel called "Going Undercover: The Yes Men and Gumshoe Journalists Discuss Subterfuge and Satire in Activism and Investigative Journalism." It's part of this year's annual Left Forum meeting. We'll be chatting with investigative journalist Ken Silverstein (DC editor of Harper's magazine and author of Turkmeniscam) and others in a conversation moderated by journalist and sometime Yes Man Joseph Huff-Hannon.

This SATURDAY, MARCH 20. 8pm: "Tell Your Friends!" comedy show with Lizz Winstead, Baratunde Thurston, and more
Pace University's Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts. 1 Pace Plaza. NYC
We join a kick-ass lineup of comedians and provocateurs to bring radical merriment to a Left Forum crowd. Hosted by Liam McEaney (Comedy Central, VH1), we'll give away the secret of how we make a few select professionals laugh, so that the rest of us can stop crying. (Your own laughs are not guaranteed - that's where the other folks in the lineup come in.) Advance tickets here, and if you've already registered and paid for the Left Forum, you get in for $5.

THURSDAY, APRIL 1. 7pm: April Fools! Mega-Chain Hosts DVD Launch.
150 East 86th Street (at Lexington Ave). NYC.
It's no joke: we'll actually be hawking our DVD from deep in the bowels of the Upper-East-Side Barnes & Noble, a mega-corporation that puts smaller businesses right out of it. (Weird, eh? Well, imagine being in our shoes.) Festivities will include an organized brainstorm on how to attack mega-corporations. Fun after-party guaranteed, at a nearby small venue (provided it's still in business).

FRIDAY, APRIL 2. TBD.
We'll be making a special announcement, as well as having a party. Watch this space!

Note: We do know that a DVD is a plastic-wrapped, airplane-shipped product that contains trace amounts of various toxic chemicals and cannot be safely disposed of. That's why we're... well, asking you not to throw it away. And using the money to keep doing new projects.
